Stretching 1,650kms from north to south, Vietnam's climate varies hugely, so it's always the best time to visit some part of the country.
Between November and February it's cool, particularly in the northern region. During this time, also, Halong Bay can be shrouded in mist, so it's not the ideal time to visit that locality.
If you're intending to stay at a beach resorts, then a stay between April and September would be recommended.
