One of the most exhilarating destinations on earth, India will challenge, confront, confound and (ultimately) delight. This is the nation which can lay claim to being the birthplace of human speech and which gave us the means to count. Where people strive at every level to advance themselves, their families and their communities.
It encompasses amazing temple complexes, glorious architecture, massive snow-capped mountains, fast-running rivers and an extraordinary array of cultures.
The shopping opportunities are limitless and the cuisine is beyond all expectation. While the style and temperature changes throughout the country, the food is always a delightful treat.
Come along and share our love of this amazing country, its culture and its people.
Ah, India!
When thinking of visiting India, you should be aware of the climatic conditions. Between November and February, temperatures are coolest. It then starts to warm up in March and April, with humidity increasing into May. By June, it's hot and very humid and the locals start praying that the monsoon will break, so that the humidity (at least) will diminish. We then have 3 months when it's best to stay away, unless you're wanting to visit the mountains and/or hill stations. Come September, the temperature starts to drop and the rain eases; then October brings blessed relief.
Those interested in viewing wildlife should be aware that game reserves often close during the monsoon.
The days when Indian Airlines was the only domestic carrier are long gone and there are now several excellent airlines offering modern aircraft and quality service. India's economic boom has fuelled rapid growth of the tourist infrastructure and there are now many hotel options, throughout the country.
