Travel Tree is proud to announce that it will be offering a 2013 Premium Ashes Cricket Tour. Beginning in Nottingham on the 9th of July the tour will take in both the 1st Ashes Test at Trent Bridge and also the 2nd Ashes Test at Lords.
Trent Bridge is located in West Bridgford, Nottinghamshire and was first used as a cricket ground in the 1830’s. It hosted its first Test match in 1899 when England played Australia. The ground itself is considered to be one of the best grounds in the world to watch cricket, its serene pavilion is thought of as one of the most renowned trademarks of cricket.
The tour includes 6 nights in Nottingham at the Mercure Hotel; the hotel is superbly located in the fashionable Lace Market area, close to the heart of Nottingham’s City Centre and only minutes from the Old Market Square. It has been completely renovated and transformed after a multi-million pound investment; the oldest hotel in Nottingham exudes a sense of tradition, comfort and relaxation.
On arrival into Nottingham all guests will be met by their escort who will assist with check in and also provide information relating to the next five days of cricket. The Test runs for five days from the 10th to 14th of July. Included in the tour is match day hospitality tickets for the 5 days of the Test, the first 3 days include hospitality in the Sobers Hall. These tickets include seating in the middle tier of the Radcliffe Road Stand, which provides a fantastic view of the cricket ground. Match day hospitality includes morning coffee and pastries, champagne reception, four course lunch with wine, complimentary bar all day, traditional afternoon tea and a souvenir programme and gift.
Days 4 & 5 of the Test include match day hospitality in an exclusive 24 seat executive box, these boxes offer guests an excellent opportunity to enjoy the hospitality and watch the cricket being played from their own private balcony. Again hospitality includes morning coffee and pastries, champagne reception, four course lunch with wine, complimentary bar all day, traditional afternoon tea and a souvenir programme and gift.

After the 1st Test at Trent Bridge the tour will continue onto London on the 15th of July in preparation for the 2nd Test at Lords. The tour includes transfers to Nottingham train station and a 1st class rail ticket for the approximately 2 hour train ride which will have the group arriving by around midday into central London. On arrival in to London guests will be transferred to the 5 star hotel, The May Fair which will be home for the next 8 nights.
The May Fair is set in the heart of one of the most enviable addresses in the world; the choices are endless from fashion to art, theatre to shopping all within a stones throw of The May Fair. After checking in to the hotel guests will enjoy the afternoon and next two days at leisure to explore all the sights London has to offer. Breakfast is included daily at The May Fair.
The morning of the 18th July marks the first day of the Ashes Test at Lords. Over one hundred Test matches have been held at Lords with the first in 1884 when again England played Australia. Lord’s is widely referred to as the home of cricket and is home to the world’s oldest sporting museum.
After breakfast at the hotel, the group will meet in the lobby and be escorted to the tube station close to the hotel. A simple ten minute ride will take the group to Lord’s Cricket Ground for the start of the 2nd Test. The tour includes match day hospitality at Lords for the 1st four days of play. Match day hospitality will have guests rubbing shoulders with crickets’ elite and enjoying daily celebrity guest speakers. The hospitality with take place in the Nursery Pavilion at Lords and will again include morning tea, a 3 course lunch, afternoon tea, complimentary bar including champagne and a match day programme and scorecard. Viewing of the match will be from the premium Mound Stand. On the conclusion of play your escort will again take guests via the tube to The May Fair hotel.
Day 5 of the Test does not include match day hospitality, as Lords does not host any. Should there be play on the 5th day all efforts will be made by the escort to obtain tickets for those on the tour. Traditionally Lords has never sold out on the 5th day, so obtaining these tickets shouldn’t pose much difficulty.
The tour concludes on the 23rd of July the morning after the 5th day of play. After breakfast at the hotel guests will be required to check out by 11am and continue on with their journey. Arrangements can be made for transfers if required.
