We are pleased to answer your questionnaire (which really isn't a questionnaire!!) with some comments on the Mekong trip. We thought the tour was excellent, and was great to have you as an experienced guide / travel companion. We found Khamsouk to be a knowledgeable and interesting guide, a very pleasant person and we enjoyed his company. He spoke English very clearly also. We thought the pace was right and we enjoyed the 2 or 3 nights in one place and good to have some free time to explore by ourselves. Accommodation and meals were fine, and good to experience some of the local food.
In 12 days of highlights it is difficult to pick out a particular highlight. The trip down the Mekong, and our stay in Luang Prabang was full of new, fascinating and enjoyable experiences. The visits to the villages and their textile industries were most interesting, and the visit to Khamsouk's home, with the music and dancing was special. Nong Kiau was a spectacular area also. Overall it was most enjoyable to see and experience the different lifestyles. The variety of the markets, and shopping and prices, were amazing.
We can only thank you for your help and organising the tour and inviting us to join your small and friendly group.
A great tour, and many thanks,

Thank you for such a marvellous trip through a fascinating part of the world. You looked after us extremely well, always thinking ahead and having things just right enabling us to sit back and enjoy our time away. You have such extensive knowledge and understanding of this region and I certainly appreciated your good company and support during the trip.
The local guides were so interesting and passionate about their home territory we couldn’t help but feel part of the small town communities while we were there. The food was also outstanding - many times perfectly local, yet always so delicious.
It was an intimate and personal tour of the Laos and Upper Mekong region where enjoyment, entertainment and education melded together to make a very special experience. I am richer and more informed from my amazing, fascinating and relaxing holiday. I feel privileged to have had you as our guide.
With heartfelt thanks from

I wanted to thank you so much for the opportunity to take the tour to Northern Thailand and Laos. It has been many years since I have been on a tour, and I found it to be a very diverse mix of interest, culture and social activities. Of course our tour leader was exceptional, and after a few days, it felt like a small family tour. I especially was grateful for the personal time you took with each of us. The quality of hotels was far above what I was expecting, and offered us a first class glimpse into local culture - especially at Lanjia Lodge Hill Resort and Nong Kiau Riverside Eco Lodge.
Without a doubt all restaurant choices were excellent, and that coupled with the quality of accommodation, made for a first class trip in my books. For anyone contemplating a tour like this, I would happily recommend - especially for those people who dislike big tour groups, but still need some structure and organized activities.
The local guides were good. In Khamsouk, you have not only found a friend, but one of the most inspiring people I have ever met. That man is so beautiful inside and out, and the entire time we spent in his company was magical. The ceremony we all experienced at his village, was far above and beyond what we expected, and even though you did not know that was going to happen, I think is a testament to the relationship that you have created with him. He is indeed a charismatic and inspiring leader of his people.
Probably the highlight of the tour for me, was the Nong Khiau Excursion. Those two days stand out for me. The whole experience at Khamsouks village was unforgettable, and then the upstream on Nam Ou River trip was peaceful and so beautiful. The visit to the school, I found to be particularly emotional - just to see the faces of the children, looking at photographs of themselves. To sing them a song and hand over a few bags of school supplies, made me feel so humble and want to somehow get involved more in social causes. We have so much, and could do so much more.
For me, there is nothing I would change about your tour. Considering everything we did and all the places that we stayed, I totally consider that this tour was good value for money.
